Is the Mini Apple iPhone a Reality?
Rumors are always swirling around the Apple brand, more specifically, which Apple devices will be the next to launch. Apple devotees can’t wait to get the first glimpse of the newest phones, and we may have gotten an accidental look at the new “mini” iPhone, the 5SE.
The four-inch model could be the first of its kind for Apple, and though the phone would emulate the specs of the 5S model, it would be smaller than any of its predecessors, making it a “mini” version of all iPhones. Does it really make sense for Apple to create a mini version when people are still loving the feel of their giant iPhone 6 Plus?
The mini phone would have a compact, rounded shape, with buttons that look similar to the 6 models. The reason Apple decided to go with a mini version of an outdated phone? Simple sales numbers. It seems that although the 5 series is now several years old, these phones have still been considered top sellers and popular options for Apple fans who actually enjoy the smaller size of the series as opposed to the larger 6 phones. So, there may be a market for a mini version after all.
Don’t go thinking that the 5SE will have the outdated features of the 5 series; that would be a mistake. The mini version would be fully upgraded to include newer, more modern features that the old 5S doesn’t include, such as an 8 MP rear camera, 1.2 MP front camera and the same processor that the newer iPhones have, as well as an updated battery comparable with newer phones. So, it may look similar to a 5 and be a smaller phone in general, but it still packs the features you need. Plus, you can use your Apple Pay too.
So this leads to another question we have no answers for as of yet-how much will the 5SE cost? Will it be comparable to 5 prices or 6 prices? We have heard talk about the 5SE coming in colors similar to the 6, which includes the newest shade, rose gold, as well as traditional gold, silver, and gray shades just like the iPhone 6 models.
The only expected difference? Apple experts say that the 5SE won’t have the 3D touch feature that got everyone so excited about the new 6 series of phones. However, the 5SE definitely won’t be lacking in features, so unless you were really excited about the 3D touch, if you like smaller sized phones that still pack a punch, it sounds like the 5SE will be right up your alley. We are also thinking the phone may be a more affordable option than the 6 as well.
How long do we have to wait to get a look at the cutest new phone in Apple’s lineup? We expect to hear more in March, but until then, we’ll just have to be content with leaked images and rumors about possible specs.
