The iPad Pro 9.7-inch model, unveiled at the latest Apple Event and released on March 31, 2016 has made its first appearance at the BuyBackWorld facilities. With 9.4 x 6.6 x 0.24-inch dimensions, Apple’s newest iPad Pro internal design has been constructed with the same physical dimensions as the iPad Air 2 and is significantly downsized from the 12.9-inch Pro.

Similarities between both Pro models include Apple’s powerful A9X chip, crisp 264-ppi Retina displays, up to 256 GB of storage and four-speaker audio. Both support the latest iOS 9.3 as well as the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard for added versatility as further detailed in our original iPad Pro review.

The Pro 9.7-inch took a slight dip in memory, from 4 GB to 2 GB, but the 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel FaceTime cameras are the finest in the iPad family, upgraded over the larger Pro’s 8-mp rear and 1.2-mp front options.

Further setting it apart, the True Tone display is a brand new feature equipped with the newest Pro. Light sensor technology adjusts the LCD’s color and brightness to match the surrounding environment, working to mimic the experience of reading a sheet of paper for a more natural and less strenuous viewing experience.

In addition, unlike its larger predecessor, the popular rose gold color is now an option along with silver, space gray and gold.

Pricing for the newest iPad Pro starts at $599 for the basic 32 GB version and ranges up to a pricey $1,029 for the 256 GB WiFi + Cellular model, not including the optional Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard.

The BuyBackWorld Bottom Line: The Apple iPad Pro 9.7-inch model packs essentially the same punch as its 12.9-inch bigger brother, all squeezed inside a smaller, more sensible body for greater convenience and portability. Still not meant to be a complete laptop replacement, the newest iPad Pro 9.7″ willingly stays in its lane as a tablet, the most well-rounded and versatile one Apple has constructed at that.

If you’re interested in making the upgrade, you can always sell your used iPad to BuyBackWorld to offset the cost. And if you’re not quite ready to shell out the big bucks for a brand new iPad, you can get a great deal on used refurbished Certified Pre-Owned iPad from The BuyBackWorld Store here
