Knowing which type of GPS device you have to sell is the first step for earning cash for your GPS trade in.

There are several types of GPS devices: Car (or Automotive), Handheld, Marine, Watches, and Aviation.

Car, or Automotive, GPS systems are typically portable units that display turn by turn driving directions helping motorists in cars, trucks, RVs, and motorcycles navigate the roads.  GPS systems for motorcycles are usually water and vibration resistant and can be mounted for outside use.  Many vehicles are now equipped with built in dash receivers.

Handheld GPS devices are GPS systems that are carried or attached to the body.  These are typically used for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, geocaching, or fitness.

Marine GPS systems are used by boaters to help navigate marine waters.  There are three main types of Marine GPS systems: Chartplotter, Fishfinder, and Fisherfinder GPS combo.  A chartplotter utilizes a GPS receiver and displays maps electronically to allow a boater to monitor the watercraft's position and movement in relation to the environment.  A fishfinder is a device that uses echo sound to detect the presence of fish and measure the depth of the water.  A Fishfinder GPS combo combines the features of a traditional fishfinder to measure depth and locate fish and GPS to track a boat's position.

Aviation GPS devices are used by pilots to track real time position of an aircraft.  

A GPS Watch is a wrist watch with an embedded GPS receiver to track a person's position, mileage, movement, speed, time, pace and sometimes heart rate.  It is typically used in fitness training or for outdoor activities.
